What’s great about my job is that I get to travel. I may not always travel to the most exotic places, but I get to travel to places I would normally not get a chance to visit if not for the job I have. This time around I drove myself up to Albany New York for a wonderful wedding that took place on the day before “Irene” came to visit the east coast.
Yuriy and Yulia are an incredible couple. They really have so much love for each other. What’s more incredible is the loving and giving family and friends they both have in their lives. It was something really special to see how many prayers, speeches and songs were sung for the couple on their wedding day. I could really appreciate how much support and love their guests had for them, just like I know my family and friends will be on my wedding day. Even though most of the celebration was spoken in Russian, love needs no translation, and I could understand the joy that was being passed around that day. It was an interesting experience seeing something so different and unique to their culture.
One extra thing I have to share is just how cool Yuriy and Yulia are. When I first met them to discuss their big day, I remember how cool they were with each other and how cool I felt being around them (I’m a bit of dork so feeling less dorky with people is an awesome feeling) When I saw them for their wedding day, they again were just so chill, cool and happy, despite the rainy weather we got later that night (Hurricane Irene caused a lot of problems, but it did not dampen their day) While editing their photos, I again couldn’t help but to think “how cool?” they are 🙂
Here are a few of my favorite photos (yes I know its a lot! I have a hard time selecting just a few!) I hope you enjoy seeing my favorite ones.
A special thanks to Yuriy and Yulia for choosing me to capture such a great wedding. You guys made me feel very cool and shared with me something different than the “norm” I tend to photograph. Another special thanks to my boyfriend for tagging along with me to keep me company and do lots of driving, so that we could get home safely due to annoying rains and winds that Irene brought with her. Your support and love is something I’m so lucky to have!! Hopefully next time I’ll have more time to spend in Albany so I can explore a bit more 🙂
